Marketing, communication and acknowledgement guidelines

Acknowledgement requirements for election commitments, grants and infrastructure projects.

The WA Government provides significant funding through election commitments, grants and to infrastructure projects.

In receipt of funding, organisations must acknowledge this contribution appropriately.

PlayOn WA advice

Any group that receives sport infrastructure items after 1 July 2025 are part of the PlayOn WA initiative.

Your funding agreement will state if you are part of PlayOn WA.

If you are part of PlayOn WA, please follow the link below on how to acknowledge your funding.

There are a number of ways funding can be acknowledged. These include, but are not limited to:

Acknowledgement must be:

  • With support from the WA Government; or
  • Proudly supported by the WA Government.

The WA Government logo must be included on all print material as agreed with and approved by CITS, including but not limited to:

  • facility opening and events
  • promotional material including social and digital recognition
  • brochures/flyers/posters

  • website.

The guidelines for use and correct positioning, and the WA Government logo can be downloaded from the CITS website.

Approval for use of the logo should be sent to commsapprovals@cits.wa.gov.au prior to publishing.

Media

All media opportunities should be offered to the responsible Minister in the first instance. Contact the CITS Communications team to discuss the media and promotional opportunities.

All media releases and promotional opportunities, including social media posts should be sent to CITS for approval prior to being released.

All media releases related to the funded project must acknowledge the WA Government as a supporter as per written acknowledgement above.

The funded organisation should endeavour to gain pictorial, written and/or verbal acknowledgement for the WA Government in all print and electronic media opportunities.

Social media

If you would like to tag the WA Government in your funding acknowledgement on social media, please use the following accounts. Posts on social media should acknowledge the WA Government funding rather than individual departments.

For example:

The Sunny Town Slammers are ready for the next season with their new team jerseys.

The new uniforms were made possible through a $10,000 investment from the WA Government. Local artist Bob Smith worked with players to design the uniforms.
