Providing financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure.
The WA Government is reviewing the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) and Club Night Lights Program (CNLP) between July and November 2026 as part of its commitment to investing in community sporting infrastructure and delivering the PlayOn WA: 2030 initiative.
Updated guidelines will be released by the end of the year, ahead of funding rounds opening in February 2027. Further information on the review outcomes, including how to access application forms, will be published on this webpage.
PlayOn WA: 2030 will deliver more than 2,030 new or upgraded sporting infrastructure projects by 2030 and is supported by $332 million in State Budget funding. The review will help ensure the Government’s funding programs continue to effectively support community sporting infrastructure across Western Australia.

The Club Night Lights Program exemplifies the WA Government’s commitment to the development of sustainable floodlighting infrastructure for sport across the State.
The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to community groups and local governments to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure. The program aims to maintain or increase participation in sport and recreation with an emphasis on physical activity, through rational development of good quality, well-designed and well-utilised facilities.
Applicants must be either a local government or a not-for-profit sport, recreation or community organisation incorporated under the WA Associations Incorporation Act 2015 and have an Australian Business Number (ABN). Clubs must demonstrate equitable access to the public on a short term and casual basis.
