Creative Projects for Individuals and Groups 

Funding for artists and creative industry professionals to deliver a one-off project or a program of activity.

Offering between $5000 and $80,000 funding for artists and creative industry professionals to deliver a one-off project or a program of activity. 

The program supports the development and growth of a vibrant sector that promotes the participation and active engagement of Western Australian communities in high quality arts and cultural experiences. 

Projects must involve artists or creatives who maintain professional arts and creative practices. 

Proposed activities should align with the WA Government’s priorities, and benefit the broader community. 

Eligibility

Individuals and groups (unincorporated bodies/partnerships) that deliver arts projects are welcome to apply to this program however:  

  • individuals must have Australian citizenship or permanent resident status and be based in Western Australia 
  • groups including unincorporated bodies, partnerships and individuals informally collaborating on an activity must be based in Western Australia 
  • organisations applying for funding must apply through the Creative Projects for Organisations program 
  • applications to this program cannot be auspiced/administered by an organisation 
  • individuals being auspiced by an organisation must apply through the Creative Projects for Organisations program 
  • if you are applying on behalf of Aboriginal people you must provide evidence of significant Aboriginal involvement in the conception, development of and participation in the activity. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the department to discuss how this can be demonstrated prior to applying 

How do I apply for a Creative Projects for Individuals and Groups grant? 

1. Apply using the online grant portal

2. Read the program guidelines and application manual

3. Upload support materials

  • You will need to upload support material with your grant application
  • Check the Program Guidelines and start organising the support materials early on.

4. Assessment of your application

  • Your application will be assessed by an external panel of peer assessors.
  • Their recommendations require approval by the Minister for Creative Industries. 
  • Your grant outcome notification will be emailed approximately 15 weeks after the closing date of the funding round.

5. Successful applications

  • If your application is successful, you will be sent a contract to sign and return.
  • Your payment will then be processed. This can take 2 to 3 weeks. 

6. Acquittal

  • Successful applicants will need to acquit their grant in the web portal within 90 days of finishing the activity. 
  • Remember to:
    • keep your invoices for major expenses
    • to document your activity.
