Tourism is one of 8 priority sectors the WA Government is focused on growing to diversify the economy, secure local jobs and attract investment

Tourism Investment Delivery Division

In February 2024, the WA Government established the Tourism Investment Committee of Cabinet to bring renewed focus to one of Western Australia’s most important industries. The committee is supported by the Tourism Investment Delivery Division (TIDD), at the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport.

TIDD works with Tourism WA to accelerate high-priority tourism proposals across WA. By navigating complex approvals processes and fostering cross-agency collaboration, we help unlock opportunities that strengthen Western Australia's visitor economy.

Through place-based planning, TIDD coordinates enabling activities, facilitates development-ready sites, and addresses barriers to investment — ensuring tourism projects are primed for success and aligned with regional growth.

Investment support services

TIDD is responsible for:

  • preparing guidance on tourism project approvals in line with the WA Government Streamline WA program
  • case management for priority accommodation and attraction projects, including collaboration and coordination across agencies to drive timely approvals
  • advice and support to WA Government in streamlining the tourism investment approvals environment.
