A home for creative industries organisations, with meeting rooms and studios available for hire to the public
Located in the heart of the Perth CBD, the heritage-listed King Street Arts Centre remains a vibrant hub for local creative industries and offers a range of spaces available for public hire.
Originally named Munster House and built in the early 1900s, the venue underwent extensive refurbishment in the late 1990s to become what is now the King Street Arts Centre.
In 2024, restoration works were completed on the building’s façade. The works included removing paint, remediating deteriorated mortar joints and brickwork, refreshing tuck-pointing, and restoring windows to their original design and condition.
The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) manages the venue on behalf of the Minister for Creative Industries. The King Street Arts Centre is home to 6 arts and cultural organisations, as well as 3 commercial tenancies located on the ground floor (facing Murray Street).
The King Street Arts Centre has meeting rooms and dance studios (5 spaces in total) that are available for hire.
