WA Sport Development Pathways Strategy

A framework to support creating quality sport development environments and experiences for athletes, coaches and officials in the pursuit of their sporting aspirations.

The WA Sport Development Pathways Strategy supports athletes, coaches and officials to reach their full potential while building stronger and more coherent sporting systems.

The WA Sport Development Pathways Strategy provides the first statewide framework to better connect community participation, talent development and high-performance sport.

Developed in partnership with the State Sporting Associations (SSAs), the strategy is a framework to support creating quality sport development environments and experiences for athletes, coaches and officials in the pursuit of their sporting aspirations.

The strategy responds to the need for clearer, more consistent and evidence-informed pathways that support people at every stage of their sporting journey.

Strong development pathways are critical to maintaining Western Australia's proud sporting record and ensuring future generations can participate, compete and excel on the national and international stage.
