About us

The Combat Sports Commission (CSC) is a statutory authority established under the Combat Sports Act 1987 and administers regulatory oversight of combat sports contests conducted in Western Australia.

 

 

 

 

What we do

The CSC is responsible for registering contestants and industry participants, issuing permits to conduct contests and enforcing health, safety and integrity requirements for combat sport contests.

Board composition

The composition of the CSC consists of 9 members including 8 persons appointed by the Minister as follows - 

 1. chairperson 
 2. police officer nominated by the Commissioner of Police
 3. medical practitioner who has knowledge of injuries suffered by contestants

 a person who has knowledge of the; 
 4. boxing industry
 5. industry relating to combat sports other than boxing

 6. industry relating to combat sports known as mixed martial arts

 a person who represents persons who are or have been registered as contestants in a class;
7. relevant to boxing
8. in a class other than a class relevant to boxing.

The final member is an officer of the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sports, as nominated by the chief executive officer.
