Big changes underway at Perth Concert Hall

Check out the redevelopment works

April 2026

Take a look behind the scenes of the major works🎶

A snapshot of what’s happening onsite:

  • The northern forecourt is undergoing major demolition. Internally, most levels of the venue are being stripped, including carpets and timber panelling, with demolition progressing around areas of the Wardle Room, WASO’s former facilities and the ground floor entrance and reception.
  • Inside the auditorium, seats have been removed and the extensive process of removing the existing stage thrust continues, with the entire exterior of the organ now wrapped. Stay tuned for updates later in the year on where some of the original seats will find a new home.

Main works are now underway 🎶🏗️

Crews are on site as the redevelopment of the Perth Concert Hall continues.

To keep this iconic space safe during construction:
  • Protective panels are being installed around walls, pillars, the spiral staircase, the stage, wall lights, the elevator and escalators so these surfaces are not damaged during works.
  • The 3,000 pipe organ is being fully covered to protect the instrument.
  • The 10 metre Tom Sanders mural in the lower lobby has been carefully wrapped to safeguard the heritage artwork.
  • Jarrah panelling from ceilings and walls is being removed so it can be restored off site.
  • Bricks along the northern forecourt are being stripped in preparation for larger demolition activity.
