Women’s National League Teams Grant Program

Supporting the sustainability of women's national league teams in WA

The Women's National League Teams Grant Program is administered by the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport. The program supports high-performance WA women’s teams with funding for travel, operations, and competition costs. This initiative aims to increase sustainability, strengthen player pathways, and reduce financial burdens on athletes.

The program was launched in 2023 with the aim to:

  • support the sustainability of women's national league teams based in WA
  • strengthen pathways and programs for women to compete at high-performance level
  • establish strong financial models to support teams' operations
  • reduce the financial burden for participating athletes at high-performance level.

  • Football West Limited for Perth Glory, Liberty A-League
  • Netball WA Inc for West Coast Fever, Suncorp Super Netball
  • The Western Australian Hockey Association Inc for Perth Thundersticks, Hockey One
  • WA Volleyball Association Inc for Perth Steel, Australian Volleyball Super League
  • Water Polo Western Australia Inc for Fremantle Marlins and UWA Torpedoes, Australian Water Polo League
  • Western Australian Basketball Federation Inc for Perth Lynx, Women’s National Basketball League
  • Western Australian Ice Hockey Association Inc for Perth Inferno, Australian Women's Ice Hockey League
  • Western Australian Rugby Union Inc (Rugby WA) for Western Force, Super Rugby Women.
