From 1 July 2025, the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) replaces the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC).
The Home: Sculptural Habitats project connected Southern Forrest Arts with 10 schools from across the region. Northcliffe based artist, Peter Hill worked alongside students and many family groups across the to create a series of small sculptural installations that provide homes for forest creatures at the Understory Art and Nature trail in Northcliffe.
The Home project was a creative response to climate change. It encouraged individual and collective agency and encouraged a sense of hopefulness in the face of uncertainty around what the future brings. Ten schools from across the region participated in the project, and for many of the students, this was the first opportunity to leave the school grounds for a learning opportunity during the COVID pandemic.
The project gave children the change to have agency in the face of climate change. It was an opportunity to express ideas, feelings and to make a positive contribution to change.
