Local governments have been recognised for place-based projects that have improved public spaces and the lives of residents.
The awards, administered by Town Team Movement with support from the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety, recognise and promote innovative place-related projects, policies and activities.
Congratulations to the winners in the three award categories:
City of Kalamunda – Wattle Grove Community Dog Park
Shire of Gnowangerup – Partnering Together: The Stirling Range Cultural and Tourism Precinct
Shire of Christmas Island – Christmas Island Fisheries Management
The winners come from metropolitan and regional Western Australia as well as Indian Ocean Territories. They differ in size, context and scale, but they share a strong commitment to community, innovation and place.
The Minister for Local Government Hannah Beazley presented the awards and congratulated the winners and all nominees for the quality of their work and the positive impact they are making across our state.
