The Hon Hannah Beazley MLA, Minister for Local Government
Tony Brown, the newly appointed Local Government Inspector, outlining his role in strengthening and modernising local government operations
Erin Gauntlett, Deputy Director General Local Government, Racing, Gaming and Liquor – LGIRS.

Staff from the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) will present updates on:

New Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC) requirements to strengthen independence and impartial oversight; and
Regulations to allow the Local Government Inspector to formally begin operations from 1 January 2026.
Consequential and transitional changes for the local government sector to implement these reforms.
