Intro

Organised by ATLAS Geraldton, the event brought together participants and their Leisure Buddies for a morning of connection, movement, and fresh air.

Thanks to adaptive trekking chairs and a powered trekking wheelchair, everyone, regardless of mobility, was able to enjoy the stunning bushland trail. The walk was filled with smiles, conversations, and shared appreciation for the natural beauty of the Chapman River. It was a powerful reminder that outdoor adventures can and should be accessible to all.

This activity was proudly supported by the Outdoor Active Recreation Participation Grant, an initiative of the WA Government through the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport. The grant helps organisations deliver inclusive outdoor programs that promote wellbeing, life skills, and community connection.

Outdoors October is all about celebrating the joy of being active outside, and thanks to programs like this, more Western Australians are experiencing that joy together.
