The event will run from the 23 to 27 February 2026, aligning with the closing week of Perth Festival.

An initiative of Creative Australia, APAM is the country's leading internationally focused performing arts industry event, showcasing theatre, contemporary dance and experimental works from across Australia and abroad.

It also provides a platform for local artists to showcase their work, access new opportunities and participate in curated networking and development programs.

To strengthen WA's presence at APAM and support the participation of the State's vibrant performing arts sector, the WA Government is also providing targeted support initiatives for local artists and organisations:

  • Regional Access Support: will ensure regionally based artists and organisations can attend APAM, with travel bursaries being provided in partnership with PAC Australia; and
  • Showcase Support: will allow WA organisations selected to pitch or showcase in the APAM market program to access targeted funding. This support is designed to help WA tour-ready works demonstrate the quality and readiness of their work and maximise market opportunities.

APAM 2026 is expected to attract more than 400 national and international delegates, including producers, presenters, and creative industry professionals.

PAC Australia successfully tendered to host APAM in Perth from 2026 to 2030, supported by the WA Government alongside Creative Australia, Perth Festival, the Arts and Culture Trust and Business Events Perth. The event will be delivered biannually in 2026, 2028 and 2030.
