APAX, delivered by PAC Australia, is a performing arts market and conference for performing arts professionals from across Australia. It provides the opportunity for performing artists, organisations, presenters and venues to develop tours, build relationships, and deliver to audiences nation-wide.

More than 40 WA delegates attended the arts market and conference across 4 days, with the WA Government providing support for 12 producers, presenters and artists to attend through travel bursaries ensuring greater access and representation for the WA performing arts sector at this Australia-wide event.

Humphrey Bower & Libby Klysz’ production An Imaginary Life and Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s Hometown were presented during the APAX art market, showcasing WA productions ready for touring across Australia.

In exciting news for the WA performing arts sector, Western Australia will be hosting the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) in Perth in 2026, 2028 and 2030, delivered by PAC Australia.

APAM showcases Australian and New Zealand contemporary dance, theatre, music, emerging and experimental arts, for national and international markets.

APAM is a strategic initiative of Creative Australia, which the WA Government is proud to be co-investing in as an initiative within Creative WA, the WA Government’s10 year vision to grow and sustain thriving culture, arts and creative industries in Western Australia.

APAM 2026 will take place from the 23 to 27 February 2026, aligning with the final week of Perth Festival. APAM will bring international visitors to our state while showcasing WA’s venues, skilled performing artists and organisations, and support sharing WA’s unique stories on the national and international stage.
