The WA Government has joined the Australian Government as a Gold Partner of the Australia Pavilion at the World Expo. 

Under Australia's theme 'Chasing the Sun', WA has put forward a creative representation of the State’s talents —  showcasing WA's unique natural beauty, culture and heritage, as well as celebrating First Nations innovation on the global stage.  

The 2025 World Expo includes an impressive line-up of WA artists to showcase their work on the main stage to major international audiences with around 15,000 visitors per day expected through the Australian Pavilion.  

  • DADAA: presenting screen content curated in collaboration with CAN and Martumili Arts, showing a visual narrative of DADAA’s, and its partners’, practices and the impact across WA communities in the space of First Nations and disability arts. 
  • Maatakitj: concert performances in Noongar Language with a cast of percussionists, singers and dancers; celebrating Noongar culture and landscapes.   
  • Co3 Contemporary Dance: presenting excerpts from its new work “In the Shadow of Time”, created in collaboration with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and with costume design by Akira Isogawa.   
  • Gina Williams & Guy Ghouse: bringing their signature storytelling through Noongar songs to Osaka, sharing a fresh take on ancient traditions and merging evocative sounds. 
  • Cristy Burne: delighting young Japanese and international audiences with her science-meets-theatre shows in a high-energy celebration of Australia’s smarts, humour and innovation. 
  • First Nations fashion label Kirrikin:  showcasing its colourful, indigenous designs in Osaka. Kirrikin also collaborated with Noongar artist Buffie Punch to create the striking uniforms worn at the Australia Pavilion. 

 The 2025 World Expo opened on 12 April 2025 and runs through to 13 October 2025.
