From 1 July 2025, the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS) replaces the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC).

Funding recipients announced for the initial round of the program awarded $664,888 in grants to 26 schools, while the second round awarded a further 24 schools an additional $879,976.
The CUSSF program encourages partnerships and agreements between schools and community sporting groups to better utilise existing sporting facilities.
The funding was spread across eight different sporting codes, providing upgrades for local facilities, equipment and school resources.
Announced in December 2024, the CUSSF program has committed $10 million to helping community groups utilise public school facilities – including courts, ovals and sports halls – by funding facility upgrades and improved sporting resources.
Developed in partnership with the Department of Education and the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, the program is a is a $10 million initiative that is building stronger, more active communities, increased participation in grassroots sport, and ensuring school facilities are used to their full potential.
Future rounds of the CUSSF grant program will also provide financial assistance for community groups and local schools to develop sports floodlighting infrastructure.
The CUSSF Fund is an investment by the WA Government — an investment in community sports, an investment in education.
