From 2027 there will be two multiyear funding programs to support Western Australia’s small to medium arts, culture and creative sector organisations: a two-year and a four-year organisations program
Based on a review of our organisational funding programs, we have introduced a new Creative Organisations Two Year Funding Program to complement our existing Arts Organisations Investment Program (AOIP).
The new Creative Organisations Two Year Program will be for activity commencing in 2027. It will replace the ‘Annual Program of Activity’ category of the Arts Projects for Organisations program. It will support, cultural and creative organisations that add dynamism and targeted support to the Western Australian creative organisations ecology.
This new program will provide a longer period of funding certainty.
Creative Organisations Two Year Program will open on 19 May 2026 and close 2 July 2026.
The last round of the Annual Program of Activity category in the Arts Project for Organisations program opens in December 2025 for activity commencing after 1 May 2026.
The Creative Organisations Four Year Program is the new name for the Arts Organisations Investment Program (AOIP). It supports longstanding, high achieving small-to-medium arts, cultural and creative organisations in Western Australia essential to the ecology for sustained impact.
The four year program will open earlier than the originally published opening date of August 2026 date for AOIP. It will now open at the same time as two year program on the 19 May 2026 and closes on the 2 July 2026.
Program guidelines will be available in March 2026, two months prior to the opening.
The department will conduct clinics and provide guidance and advice to organisations that are unsure which program to apply for when the guidelines are published.
