The WA Government has awarded a $4 million tender to a local Western Australian company to begin an exciting new chapter for the recently opened Sam Kerr Football Centre in Queens Park.

Environmental Industries has been awarded a contract to carry out the works to establish two natural turf pitches, including site preparation, earthworks, irrigation, lighting, shade structures, fencing and landscaping.

The Sam Kerr Football Centre, owned by VenuesWest on behalf of the State Government and co-managed with Football West, officially opened in October 2023 and is a world-class, high-performance facility.

Stage One works costing $50.8 million involved constructing 2 floodlit full-size hybrid turf pitches, 3 five-a-side pitches, a tiered grandstand for 700 spectators, changerooms, sport science centre and administration facilities for Football West.

Since its opening, more than 130,000 people have utilised the facility. The venue hosts A-league Women’s games, Perth Glory Women’s games and National Premierships, among others, and was used as a training base by five international teams during the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023 Australia and New Zealand™.

The Centre will be used as a training facility by the Socceroos next month as well as for the 2026 Women’s Asian Cup.

Stage 2 works will be managed by VenuesWest and is expected to begin next month with an estimated completion date of January 2026.
